This painting is part of my “Sparks of joy” series, which is all about those small moments that unexpectedly brighten our days. It was inspired by a quick encounter on an ordinary morning. I was waiting at a traffic light, lost in my own thoughts, when a woman looked at me, smiled, and said, “That color really suits you, it’s full of life.” Her words were simple, but they stuck with me, and the whole day felt different afterwards. With its bold reds, greens and purples, Compliment is my way of holding onto that feeling. A reminder of how powerful even the smallest gestures can be.
